Rove meets da judge.

On Thursday, November 10, Karl Rove will address the Federalist Society. One can only wonder why, and how he will be received.

Of interest is this blurb from the Federalist Societies web site which describes their purpose.
This entails reordering priorities within the legal system to place a premium on individual liberty, traditional values, and the rule of law. It also requires restoring the recognition of the importance of these norms among lawyers, judges, and law professors.
Yeah... you know, traditional values like ruining the careers of political opponents, lying about them, winning at any cost, leaking classified information to cya then stonewalling an investigation into the leak... those kind of values. How can any self respecting society so concerned with ethics and the rule of law permit Mr. Rove to even attend, much less deliver a speech at their conference? My enduring hope is that as Mr. Rove takes the podium he will be wrestled to the ground and cuffed, while Judge Alito reads him his rights. Being absolutely opposed to the abuse of detainees, I sincerely hope that Mr. Rove is not delivered unto the dungeon of Mr. Cheney, where-in the true nature of his nefarious dealings regarding the Plame affair will be rendered from his shrieking body.

This only leads one to wonder if Karl will be fitting this into his busy schedule before or after the recently presidentially mandated ethics class? Or mayhaps the true purpose of his visit to this august body is to deliver a stirring speech detailing what he learned in the ethics refresher course. One can only wonder if some of the very parties who will hear his speech will sit in judgment of him at some point in the future.

This might be a good list for some comments. Name what you think the guest list for next years Federalist Society get together will look like!
